Licence agreement

This agreement is between you and Spokn Labs and covers your use of Spokn. By installing or using Spokn you accept it.

1. Licence

We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Spokn on up to 2 Macs at a time (or the number stated in your licence), for the versions your licence covers. During a trial, the licence lasts for the trial period.

2. What you may not do

  • Share, publish or resell your licence key, or use it on more Macs than allowed.
  • Copy, modify, reverse engineer or work around the licence check of Spokn, except where the law allows this.
  • Extract or redistribute the speech models or vocabularies included with Spokn.
  • Use Spokn in breach of the licences of its third-party components, listed under model licences.

3. Clinical use

Spokn is a dictation tool and not a medical device. It does not diagnose, recommend treatment or make clinical decisions. You must review every report before it is finalised. Speech recognition can mishear words, including laterality, negation, drug names and numbers.

4. Your data

Spokn processes audio and text on your Mac. It contacts our server only to activate and check your licence, as described in our privacy policy. You are responsible for complying with the rules that apply to patient information in your practice.

5. Updates

Your licence covers versions released within its update period. Later versions need a renewal; versions you already have keep working.

6. Ending the licence

This licence ends automatically if you break it. When it ends you must stop using Spokn and delete it.

7. No warranty

To the extent the law allows, Spokn is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose or that it will be error-free.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss arising from errors in transcribed text, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for your licence.

9. Governing law

This agreement is governed by the laws of India.
